Cleveland 5-1 Losers to Cubs
|
The first-place Chicago Cubs picked up another win.
Starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo was a major factor in the 5-1 Chicago Cubs triumph over the Cleveland Guardians. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 49-37.
The Cubs got a big at-bat from shortstop Dansby Swanson. For the game, Swanson went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-1 lead.
Swanson called it "a solid win."
