The San Francisco Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1, at Chase Field. Starting pitcher Alex Cobb was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Today's win puts San Francisco at 44-42, while Arizona falls to 51-34.
San Francisco used the timely hitting of Tomás Nido to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Giants on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Cobb.
