Astros Suffer 8-1 Road Loss
|
Toronto turned a good effort from starter Justin Steele into a win over the Houston Astros at Rogers Centre. The final score was 8-1. Toronto has run its win streak to 5 straight.
Wilmer Flores had a big 3-run home run for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toronto leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Framber Valdez, who is tied for 7th in the AL in innings pitched with 110.2, and swatted a home run to center. It was his 21st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Jays ahead, 5-1.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Steele.
