Abreu Slugs Nationals to 6-0 Win
|
Getting offensive support from Wilyer Abreu, the Washington Nationals topped the Boston Red Sox, 6-0. Abreu went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Nationals. Today's win puts Washington at 45-44, while Boston falls to 43-46.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from center fielder Dru Baker. For the game, Baker went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Baker.
