Nationals Score Late to Nip Red Sox, 5-4
|
The Washington Nationals used the hitting of third baseman Jose Ramirez to subdue the Boston Red Sox, 5-4. For the game, Ramirez went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Washington is now 46-44, Boston 43-47.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Ramirez. Facing Tyler Holton with runners on 1st and 3rd, the Washington third baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. Game over, walk-off style!
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Ramirez said.
