Mets Earn 3-1 Home Win
|
The New York Mets picked up a win at Citi Field, taking down the New York Yankees, 3-1. Starting pitcher Chayce McDermott was a big reason why. Danny Young earned the save for New York, his 3rd. New York goes to 52-38, New York to 36-53.
Alex Freeland helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the third baseman was 1-2 with a double and a walk.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said McDermott.
