Jesús Sánchez was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Detroit Tigers. The right fielder was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Cincinnati Reds. Reliever Xzavion Curry picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Sandy Alcantara, who finished 3rd in the AL in wins with 17 in 2022, took the loss. Felix Bautista got the save, his 10th in 14 chances.

With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Sánchez hit a sinker from Sandy Alcantara for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Reds ahead, 3-0.

In postgame comments to the Cincinnati Herald, Sánchez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

With the win, Cincinnati raised its record to 47-43.
