Pittsburgh Downed, 5-3, by Mets
|
New York parlayed a decent outing from starter Jon Gray into a solid win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The final score was 5-3. Caleb Ferguson, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities. With the win, New York upped its record to 46-44.
New York used the timely hitting of Nick Pratto to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mets on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Jon is good at sticking to his strengths," said New York manager Craig K.
