Yankees Earn Late Win
|
The Boston Red Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Tanner Houck, but the New York Yankees still won the game, 2-1. Houck threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. New York reliever Taylor Rogers picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. John Schreiber absorbed the loss. The victory puts New York at 34-58.
New York got a knockout punch from Ryan O'Hearn. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said O'Hearn.
