Royals Handed 7-3 Loss by Colorado
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Kansas City Royals and Colorado Rockies get after it.
Michael Harris, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in extra base hits with 46, led Colorado to a triumph over Kansas City. The final score was 7-3. The left fielder went 3 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 2 runs and added 1 RBI. Jalen Beeks came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2.
Eugenio Suarez had a big 2-run home run for the Rockies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Colorado leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Walker Buehler, who finished 2nd in the AL in wins with 20 in 2021, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 13th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 5-1.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Harris told the Colorado Today.
The triumph puts Colorado at 50-40 for the season.
