Mastrobuoni Socks 2 Home Runs in 2-1 Washington Win

Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Washington Nationals and New York Mets.
The 4-hit performance of Miles Mastrobuoni helped the Washington Nationals beat the New York Mets, 2-1. Max Scherzer, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-8. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 1.
With Washington leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Mastrobuoni hit a sinker from Graham Ashcraft for a solo home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Washington manager Shane S.
The Nationals sport a record of 35-59.
