Houston Defeated by Toronto, 7-6
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Teoscar Hernández had a good game, but he could not keep the Houston Astros from falling, 7-6, to the Toronto Blue Jays at Minute Maid Park. The Houston designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 in the loss. Pablo Lopez picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-7 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 1 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 4 runs.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Miguel Amaya? The Toronto catcher had a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 7-4. For the game, Amaya had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Amaya.
Toronto is now 42-53, Houston 54-42.
