Mets Get One-Run Win at Kansas City
The New York Mets had to overcome a good performance from Kansas City pitcher Luis Medina to claim a 2-1 win at Kauffman Stadium. Medina went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Luis Gil, the winning pitcher, is now 6-3. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 1. Blake Treinen notched his 10th save in 12 chances.

New York used a well-timed hit by Rafael Devers to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Devers said.
