The Boston Red Sox topped the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-2, in American League action at Fenway Park. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Collinsville, Illinois, native Tanner Houck. Jimmy Herget got the save, his 2nd in 5 chances. The setback makes Tampa Bay 32-64.

Jose Caballero was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs for Boston. The 28-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run single off Yariel Rodriguez. It was his 22nd hit of the season.
