The Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays obliged fans looking for a good time.

The Boston Red Sox powered past the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-7, at Fenway Park. Mike Trout provided some of the pop. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Lucas Giolito got the win, improving to 7-4. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3.

Sean Murphy, who finished 2nd in the AL in wins above replacement with 7.2 last year, took Tampa Bay hurler Erick Fedde deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Red Sox on top, 2-1. In all, Murphy had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Murphy.
