Sale Leads San Diego Past Washington
In a low-scoring game between the San Diego Padres and the Washington Nationals, pitcher Chris Sale was the difference-maker. The San Diego left-hander was tough as nails in the 2-0 Padres win. Ryan Walker, credited with the save, is now 29 for 31 in save opportunities. San Diego is now 54-43, Washington 50-48.

Though he did not get the decision, Sale did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 6.1 innings, until San Diego eventually rallied past the Nationals.

Sale told a San Diego Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
