Bobby Witt Jr. was the difference-maker for the New York Mets in what turned into a shootout with the Cincinnati Reds. Witt Jr., who is a four-time All-Star, went 3-for-5 in the 10-9 Mets win. Kenley Jansen got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The victory gives New York a record of 56-42.

Had Marcus Semien not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Semien hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 10-9, in favor of the Mets.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Semien. "And not try to do too much."
