Chicago Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The performance of Giancarlo Stanton proved critical in helping Chicago beat Boston, 9-8, in 10 innings. The Cubs designated hitter slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Reliever Andres Munoz picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Alexis Diaz, who is tied for 7th in the AL in saves with 15, took the loss. Chicago goes to 57-42, Boston to 50-50.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Chicago right fielder Dane Myers, facing Alexis Diaz, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cubs the 9-8 win.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Stanton. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
