Detroit Slaps 5-3 Loss on Texas

Tigers third baseman Fernando Tatis Jr. left his mark on his team's 5-3 win over the Texas Rangers. Tatis Jr., who led the AL in runs with 158 in 2023, went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for Detroit in the contest. Detroit pitcher Luis Castillo earned the win, hiking his record to 9-7. Bailey Falter suffered the loss. Yimi Garcia, credited with the save, is now 5 for 5 in save opportunities.
With Detroit leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Tatis Jr. hit a changeup from Bailey Falter for a solo home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 3-1.
