The Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Tigers played an entertaining game for PNC Park patrons.

Detroit got a terrific game from third baseman Fernando Tatis Jr.. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Pittsburgh, 5-4. Tatis Jr. went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Brant Hurter got the win, improving to 9-7. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1.

Jonah Bride dealt the Tigers a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Pittsburgh leading 2-1, Bride, who is tied for 6th in the NL in bases on balls with 55, hit a 1-1 sinker for a 2-run single.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Bride told the Pittsburgh Gazette.

The setback makes Detroit 66-35.
