Nationals Deal Reds 3-1 Loss
|
The Washington Nationals had to weather a strong performance from Cincinnati pitcher Corbin Burnes before claiming a 3-1 win in 13 innings. Burnes went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. Washington reliever Michael Lorenzen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Angel Perdomo was saddled with the loss. With the win, Washington has a record of 52-51. Cincinnati falls to 48-55.
Washington got a game-changing hit from Jose Ramirez. The third baseman blasted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"Every loss stings," said Cincinnati manager Jeff P. "This one is no exception."
