The Seattle Mariners picked up a win at Oakland Coliseum, knocking off the Oakland Athletics, 5-2. Starting pitcher Kris Bubic was a big reason why. Seattle goes to 42-62, Oakland to 57-47.

Seattle right fielder Alec Burleson contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 98th hit of the season and put the Mariners ahead, 1-0.

"We did a lot of things right," said Bubic.
