Despite a great performance by Minnesota first baseman Triston Casas, the Washington Nationals defeated the Twins by the score of 10-6 at Target Field. Casas was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Brayan Bello. His record now stands at 5-10. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits for the Nationals. With the win, Washington upped its record to 53-51.

Early in the game, right fielder Wilyer Abreu had a 2-run home run for Washington. It was his 26th home run of the season and put the Nationals on top, 2-0.
