The San Francisco Giants topped the Colorado Rockies, 5-1, in National League action at Oracle Park. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and Boston, Massachusetts, native Alex Cobb. The win belonged to Evan Phillips in relief. His record improves to 4-4. Frankie Montas took the loss for Colorado. San Francisco is now 67-39, 6½ games up in the National League West Division.
San Francisco took the lead, 4-1, on Francisco Lindor's 13th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Colorado pitcher A.J. Puk in the bottom of the eighth.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Lindor.
