India Slugs Reds to 21-3 Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 21-3. Second Baseman Jonathan India deserved a large share of the credit. India went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, a walk, and was hit 2 times, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3 for the Reds. The triumph puts Cincinnati at 55-52 for the season.
Cincinnati used the hitting of Brett Baty to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reds on top, 18-0. For the game, Baty had 2 home runs and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Baty.
