The San Diego Padres picked up a win at Petco Park, dropping the New York Mets, 3-1. Chris Sale, who is tied for 4th in the NL in wins with 11, was the difference-maker. San Diego is now 61-46, while New York is 61-46.
Harrison Bader had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for San Diego. He came through with a 2-run single to put San Diego in front, 2-1.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Sale.
