Logan Webb, who is tied for 2nd in the NL with a 0.96 WHIP, was in top form in a tight contest between San Francisco and Pittsburgh. The Giants right-hander helped his team beat the Pirates, 1-0. San Francisco reliever Chris Martin was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Pierce Johnson. With the win, San Francisco upped its record to 56-51.

The Giants got a clutch hit from designated hitter Jose Altuve. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Giants.
