Mariners Drop Astros, 6-4, with Late Score
|
Seattle first baseman Alec Burleson made his presence felt in the 6-4 Mariners triumph over the Houston Astros. Burleson went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Seattle pitcher Mike Clevinger got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Gabe Speier got the loss. The victory puts Seattle at 43-65.
Burleson had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 sinker from Andrew Kittredge, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Mariners a 6-3 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Burleson.
"We took home the win," said Burleson. "What's not to like?"
