Taylor Slugs Giants to 13-3 Win
No one was more impactful than Michael A. Taylor in the 13-3 San Francisco win over Pittsburgh. Taylor, who finished 5th in the AL in stolen bases with 24 in 2021, was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Logan Gilbert, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-2. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 1. The win elevated the Giants to 57-52.

The Giants got a big hit from third baseman Manny Machado. Facing Pittsburgh pitcher Michael Grove in the bottom of the fifth, Machado pounded a grand slam home run to left-center. His 18th home run of the season put the Giants ahead, 8-0.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Taylor told the San Francisco News.
