Orioles Prevail, 5-3, Over Toronto
|
The Baltimore Orioles beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Baltimore second baseman Brandon Lowe led the way. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Baltimore reliever Robbie Ray snagged the win, upping his record to 5-1. Ben Bowden shouldered the loss. Phil Maton was credited with the save, his 24th in 29 tries.
Lowe had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 slider from Brock Burke, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Orioles a 5-3 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Lowe.
Lowe called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
