Texas catcher Tom Murphy was instrumental in helping the Rangers triumph, 9-1, over the Oakland Athletics. Murphy went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Texas is now 49-60, while Oakland is 60-49.
