Rockies Capture Close Win
|
The Colorado Rockies and Cleveland Guardians put on quite a show.
The Colorado Rockies faced a tough opponent in Cleveland pitcher Dylan Cease, but found a way to pull out the victory at Progressive Field by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Cease went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The Rockies improved their record to 63-45 with the win over Cleveland.
Byron Buxton, who is a three-time Great Glove Award winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. Buxton contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the tenth inning to put Colorado up, 4-3.
Buxton called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
