The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Rogers Centre, knocking off the Kansas City Royals, 5-2. On the mound for Toronto was right-hander Pablo Lopez. He played a key role in the triumph. The win went to Tanner Banks in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Davis Sharpe took the loss. The Blue Jays improved their record to 49-63 by beating Kansas City.

Toronto took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Xavier Edwards hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Blue Jays in front, 4-2.

Toronto manager Dan D commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
