Colorado 6-2 Losers to Pirates
|
Pittsburgh starter Nick Pivetta pitched well against the Colorado Rockies at Colorado Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. Pivetta picked up the win for Pittsburgh, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-9. Pittsburgh is now 48-64, Colorado 65-46.
Pittsburgh second baseman Jamie Westbrook contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 81st hit of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 5-1.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Pivetta.
