Giants Victors, 5-3, at New York
|
The San Francisco Giants handed the New York Mets a 5-3 defeat at Citi Field. Left Fielder Jose Altuve starred for San Francisco. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. San Francisco is now 60-52, New York 63-49.
Altuve contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Francisco in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Altuve took a sinker from Graham Ashcraft and stroked the home run to right-center. His 18th home run of the season allowed the Giants to leap in front, 3-1.
"Enjoyed this one," Altuve told the San Francisco News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
