In a low-scoring contest, Colorado pitcher Tyler Mahle was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. Mahle picked up the win for Colorado, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 10-5. Raisel Iglesias notched his 27th save in 31 chances.
Brandon Lowe, who is tied for 4th in the NL in bases on balls with 71, took Toronto hurler Johan Oviedo deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Rockies on top, 3-0. In all, Lowe had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Colorado skipper Bobby S. "I can't complain."
With the win over Toronto, the Rockies improved to 67-46.
