Oakland got a strong outing from Braxton Garrett as the Athletics defeated the Detroit Tigers, 3-2, at Comerica Park. The Athletics now have a record of 66-51 with the win over Detroit.

Josh Lowe, who leads the AL in stolen bases with 38, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lowe contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Oakland up, 3-0.

Lowe told a Oakland Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
