Nationals Sunk by Giants
|
The 4-2 San Francisco win over Washington was due largely to Sal Frelick. The Giants right fielder was 2-3 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. San Francisco reliever Max Kranick was the winner. His record is now 3-6. Erik Miller took the loss. Ryan Pressly, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 26th save.
Jeimer Candelario hit a 2-run triple off Jakob Junis in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Giants in front, 4-2. Candelario had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"I really like what we did out there today," Candelario said after the game.
The defeat makes Washington 57-61.
