Oakland catcher Keibert Ruiz contributed significantly to his team's 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ruiz went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Athletics. Picking up the win was Yusei Kikuchi. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The left--hander struck out 7 and walked 4. With this game in the books, Oakland is 68-52, Los Angeles 58-62.
Oakland grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Ruiz hit a 2-run double off Luis Severino. His 26th double of the season put the Athletics out in front, 4-2.
"We take it day by day here," said Ruiz, "and today was a good one for us."
