Rockies Deal St. Louis 3-1 Defeat
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown St. Louis Cardinals take on the Colorado Rockies.
Colorado Rockies starter Tyler Mahle turned in a top-notch performance against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The result was a win for the Rockies, 3-1. Raisel Iglesias was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 28 of 32 save opportunities.
Colorado won the game in part because of Ezequiel Tovar. The shortstop ripped a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Rockies ahead, 1-0. For the game, Tovar had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Mahle.
Colorado has now won 3 straight, while the Cardinals have lost 5 in a row.
