Royals 4-3 Winners Versus Washington
|
The Kansas City Royals used the hitting of second baseman Jon Berti to subdue the Washington Nationals, 4-3. For the game, Berti went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. The winning pitcher was Taylor Dollard. He tossed 87 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. With the win over Washington, the Royals improved to 57-64.
With Kansas City trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Berti hit a sinker from Lance McCullers Jr. for a bases-clearing double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Royals ahead, 3-1.
