The Texas Rangers trumped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-3, at Globe Life Field. Texas first baseman Matt Vierling was terrific. He went 2-3 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Texas now sits at 51-71, while Arizona falls to 70-51.

Vierling contributed in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat among others that helped Texas get the win.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Vierling said after the game.
