The New York Mets cut down the Seattle Mariners by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Rafael Devers. Devers belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Mets. New York reliever Kenley Jansen picked up the win, raising his record to 4-1. Elvis Peguero was tagged with the loss. New York got a knockout punch from Jake McCarthy. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
