Mariners Squeeze By Philadelphia, 6-5
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies.
The Seattle Mariners knocked off the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5, in American League action at Citizens Bank Park. Seattle pitcher and Greenfield, Indiana, native Kyle Gibson had an outstanding performance. The victory puts Seattle at 51-75.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Lourdes Gurriel Jr., the 31-year old left fielder . Gurriel Jr. contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put Seattle up, 6-5.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Gibson.
