Blue Jays Suffer 2-1 Road Loss
|
Pittsburgh Pirates starter Nick Pivetta hurled his team past the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Pivetta, now 8-9. He tossed 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The Pirates now have a record of 57-70 with the win over Toronto.
The Pirates got a big at-bat from right fielder Tyler O'Neill. For the game, O'Neill went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 25th home run of the season gave Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Toronto manager Dan D. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
