Cubs Topple Athletics with Late Rally
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics.
Chicago right fielder Dane Myers played a vital role in his team's 6-4 conquest of Oakland. He went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Chicago. The Cubs improved their record to 79-50 by beating Oakland.
Jack Suwinski came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The left fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Myers.
