Seattle first baseman Nolan Schanuel had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Houston Astros, 6-2. Seattle reliever Jake Irvin picked up the win to move to 8-4. Hunter Brown suffered the loss. Seattle is 52-77 and Houston, with the loss, 68-62.

Schanuel contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Seattle in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Schanuel took a fastball from Hunter Brown and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Mariners to leap in front, 3-1.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Schanuel.
