Boston Red Sox starter Zack Wheeler turned in a top-notch performance against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The result was a win for the Red Sox, 6-1. With the win over New York, the Red Sox improved to 66-65.

Wheeler, a native of Dallas, Georgia, was dealing all game. He kept New York hitters off-balance, while giving the Red Sox 6.2 quality innings. Wheeler threw 100 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 8.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Boston skipper Chris L.
