Tony Gonsolin, who finished 2nd in the NL in innings pitched with 229.2 in 2023, had a strong outing for the Tampa Bay Rays against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. The Rays go to 47-84 with the win.

Tampa Bay used the timely hitting of Rafael Marchan to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rays on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Tampa Bay manager Mark S.
