Athletics 2-1 Winners Over Texas

Pitcher Michael King was sensational for the Oakland Athletics in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Texas Rangers. King earned the win. Robert Stephenson, credited with the save, is now 20 for 25 in save opportunities. The setback makes Texas 53-80.
The Athletics got a big at-bat from center fielder JJ Bleday. For the game, Bleday was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Oakland a 2-1 lead.
"Michael pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Oakland manager Brad P.
